Glasgow Events Migrant solidarity – eyewitness talk from a volunteer in Women’s Space in Ritsona Refugee Camp

Apologies for lack of emails to this list. Lots of stuff been going on behind the scenes and compiling this list each week takes a chunk of time that hasn’t been possible for past while. We hope to get back on track shortly.

Tonight we are very excited to be hosting a talk by someone involved with the women’s space in Ritsona Refugee Camp, Greece. We will hear eyewitness account of what its like at the camp and the realities of migrant solidarity in Greece.

Please also consider supporting the work and this event by letting others know about the talk, whether or not you can make it yourself.

Tuesday 28th June.
Glasgow Autonomous Space, Unit 11, 53 Kilbirnie Street. G5 8JD

An AFED member has been volunteering on a red-listed (no running water) refugee camp in Ritsona, Greece. She will talk about her personal experiences of setting up and working in a women’s space, about NGOs and their function within the camp and what happens on a volunteer’s return. There will be an opportunity to donate towards her work with pregnant and post-natal refugees and their babies so bring a few spare pennies if you have them.
