Glasgow Anarchist Federation’s monthly discussion group returns with a basic introduction to the foundations of safer spaces, community accountability and transformational justice that arise from elements present from the very inception of anarchism as a political philosophy.

Recent developments in practice and theory have come about in response to the physical and sexual abuse and oppressive use of language that has always been present within our communities and continue to present a challenge to this day.

A short presentation on some of the ideas and work being done in this area will be followed by an open discussion. This talk and discussion will raise the subject of abuse, from oppressive language through to rape and physical violence.

We ask that all those attending this event read the first page of our safer spaces policy here: http://tinyurl.com/GlasgowAF
