As well as activity in the community and at work our places of study are also a field of struggle. All of us are students at some point in our lives whether we leave education at fourteen or at forty five. For those of us who are students our place of study is going to be where we spend most of our time and so how we organise within it will obviously be of priority to us.
The traditional body for student organisation, the NUS, has been a joke for many years now and with the institution of the new constitution any hint of union democracy has died. As students we need to build new vehicles for organisation that are both libertarian and most importantly under our control.
There are anarchists who are studying in many of the centres of education around Glasgow. We have formed an anarchist student association, No Gods, No Masters, and can be contacted via our email guanarcho[at]gmail.com.
